Source: UB's Bearden suspended for smoking weed

The University at Buffalo men’s basketball team has suspended leading scorer Lamonte Bearden three games for “violating team rules”.

A source tells 7 Eyewitness Sports Anchor Shawn Stepner Bearden has been banned after testing positive for marijuana.

Bearden is the Bulls leading scorer, averaging 13.5 points per game. He also leads the Bulls with 3.5 assists per game and 1.7 steals per game.

He served the first game of his suspension on Tuesday night as UB lost to Toledo 71-69.
