Niagara and Canisius fall on the road in Friday night games

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Friday night wasn't too kind to the Niagara and Canisius men's basketball teams as both suffered losses on the road.

Canisius fell in a close one, a 61-60 loss to Rider, after after the Griffs turned it over in the final seconds. Malik Johnson led the Golden Griffs with 17 points and six rebounds while majesty Brandon, coming off the bench, finished with 14 points and eight rebounds. With the loss, Canisius falls to 4-8 in MAAC play.

Niagara fell to Manhattan 77-59. Greg Kuakumensah was the lone Purple Eagle to finish in the double figures for scoring with 13 points. With the loss, Niagara falls to 5-6 in MAAC play.

Both Canisius and Niagara will be back in action on Sunday as they switch opponents and try to get back in the win column.
