SANBORN, N.Y. (WKBW) — For the first time in program history, the Niagara County Community College women's basketball team is headed to nationals.

The still perfect Thunderwolves, the no. 1 seed in the Region III tournament, topped no. 2 seed Monroe community College on Sunday afternoon. It was the team's 31st win of the season.

Kenetria Redfern (Cheektowaga) was named the Region Tournament's MVP after finishing with a game-high 30 points. Shilah Parker (Cardinal O'Hara) finished with 15 points in the win.

The Thunderwolves will next compete in the NJCAA National Championship tournament in Arkansas. Play begins on March 19th.
