Myers leads UB to win over Robert Morris in season opener

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The University at Buffalo football team kicked off the 2019-2020 season on a high note, topping Robert Morris 38-10 on Thursday night.

Former Bishop Timon and West Seneca West quarterback Matt Myers made his first collegiate start, becoming the first freshman to start a UB season opener in 28 years. Myers finished 5-of-10 for 69 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 47 yards and another score.

Jaret Patterson, who led the Bulls in rushing last season, finished with 90 yards on 12 carries and added a touchdown. Zac Lefebvre added two touchdown receptions in the win.

The Bulls will visit Penn State next Saturday. The Nittany Lions are currently ranked 15th in the country.
