BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Last season, the UB basketball teams earned a spot in their respective NCAA Tournament fields following their conference tournaments. This season, they'll look to do the same.
The Mid-American Conference Tournament begins this week and the UB men and women have both earned byes to the quarterfinal round.
The men are the no. 1 overall seed after going 16-2 in conference play during the regular season. They'll play their quarterfinal game on Thursday at 12 p.m. against either Akron or Miami (OH). The Bulls went 4-0 against those teams during the regular season.
The women are the no. 4 seed after going 12-6 in conference play. They'll play their quarterfinal game on Wednesday at a time to be determined against either Kent State or Bowling Green. The Bulls went 2-2 against those teams during the regular season.
The MAC quarterfinals, semifinals and championship games are set for Wednesday March 13th through Saturday, March 16th at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH.
