Dillard named candidate for 2019 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award

AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — It's been quite the season for UB women's basketball player Cierra Dillard.

In the past few months, Dillard has been named to the Naismith Trophy Watch list, the midseason watch list for the Dawn Staley Award, the espnW's player of the week, and has been the Mid-American Conference's East Division Player of the Week five times. On Tuesday, the honors kept coming.

Dillard has been named one of 10 candidates for the 2019 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award which honors the nation's best shooting guard.

Dillard has started in all 21 games for the Bulls and averages 25 points, six assists and nearly three steals a game. She's currently in th etop five in scoring among all Division-I basketball players.

Five of the ten candidates will be named finalists in March with the winner being revealed during the 2019 Women's Final Four.
