BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A tale of two halves.

On Saturday evening the UB football team fell to no. 15 Penn State 45-13, despite leading the nationally ranked Nittany Lions at the half.

The Bulls found themselves trailing 7-0 after the first quarter but took things up a notch. Following a field goal from Alex McNulty, QB Matt Myers led the team's best drive all day, capping it off with a touchdown reception to Julian Bourassa with just 11 seconds left in the 2nd quarter to take a 10-7 lead. The second half though belonged to Penn State. Right out of the locker room, the Nittany Lions applied the pressure and took advantage, outscoring the Bulls 38-3 in the final two quarters.

Myers finished 16-of-31 for 246 yards, a touchdown and a pick-six. Jaret Patterson led the ground game with 23 carries for 72 yards while Antonio Nunn had five catches for 114 yards.

The Bulls are now 1-1 on the season and will hit the road next Saturday to take on Liberty.
