BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — The Canisius hockey team is officially on "pause" following a positive COVID test among the program's Tier 1 personnel. Those individuals include coaches, managers, student-athletes, and support staff.
With the hockey team unable to practice or play, the team's home-and-home series against Mercyhurst has been postponed to a later date. The games were originally scheduled to be played December 10th and 12th.
In a statement, the hockey program said they're "following all institutional and Erie County COVID-19 protocols. The College, in cooperation with the Erie County Department of Health, are conducting contract tracing and will take all appropriate measures".
