For the fifth time in six years the Canisius women's lacrosse team won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. For the fifth time in six years they lost in the first round of the national tourney.
The Griffs fell to Cornell on Friday 15-11.
The game was tied 6-6 at halftime before the Big Red pulled away in the second half.
Canisius' leading scorer Erica Evans scored three goals and two assists.
The Griffs end the season with a record of 13-7.
