BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The season begins in just a few days and Canisius pitcher Will Frank is getting some preseason recognition.

Frank was one of 75 players to be named to the 15th annual NCBWA Stopper of the Year watch list. It's an award that honors the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division-I baseball. He becomes the third Griffs to be named to either the preseason or midseason watch list for this award.

Frank was named the 2018 MAAC Relief Pitcher of the Year and was an eighth-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Angels. Last season he finished with a 4-1 record and recorded three saves. He currently ranks fourth in program history in two categories: opponent batting average and strikeouts per nine innings.

Canisius opens the the 2019 season on Friday, February 15th at N.C. Central.
