Canisius and Niagara men's hoops fall in close Friday night games

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Friday night was a heartbreaker for the Canisius and Niagara men's basketball teams as both fell in close contests on Friday night.

Canisius fell to Quinnipiac 66-64. Armon Harried, Jordan Henderson, and Majesty Brandon all finished with 12 points in the loss. The Golden Griffs are now 9-17 overall and 4-11 in Metro Atlantic play.

Niagara fell to Fairfield 61-60 after Stags' Taj Benning hit a jumper with 11 seconds left in regulation. James Towns led the Purple Eagles with 16 points and was the only player to finish in the double figures. He also added five assists and rebounds in the loss. The Purple Eagles are now 9-17 overall and 7-8 in Metro Atlantic play.

The two teams will be back in action on Sunday when Canisius visits Manhattan and Niagara visits Marist.
