BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The St. Bonaventure men's basketball team is still alive in the A10 Tournament. The 4th seeded Bonnies topped 5th seeded George Mason 68-57 on Friday afternoon in the quarterfinal round to punch a ticket to Saturday's semifinals.
Cheektowaga native Dom Welch led the Bonnies with a career-high performance, finishing with 20 points. Kyle Lofton also put up 20 points in the win while LaDarien Griffin added 10.
Up next for the Bonnies is 8th seeded Rhode Island who upset top seeded VCU in the first quarterfinal game of the day. During the regular season, Rhode Island topped the Bonnies in a 75-63 win back in January. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
