CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WKBW) — The Buffalo Bills won their first preseason game last week and followed it up with another win Friday night.

The Bills beat the Carolina Panthers 27-14 in Charlotte, North Carolina in their second preseason game. The majority of the team's healthy players and starters saw action in Friday night's win while the Panthers played without QB Cam Newton and LB Luke Kuechly who both sat out to rest.

Quarterback Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills starters only played two drives and capitalized on both, giving the team a 10-0 after the first quarter. Allen completed 9-of-11 passes for 102 yards while LeSean McCoy, who made his preseason debut after he sat out in week one, carried the ball four times for six yards and a touchdown. Cole Beasley led all wide receivers with five catches for 44 yards while tight end Tommy Sweeney, who is taking advantage of extra on-field time due to injuries, had two catches for 47 yards.

The defense once again had another strong performance, keeping the Panthers out of the endzone. The unit finished with two sacks and a pick-six from cornerback Kevin Johnson.

The Bills will return to the field for their third preseason game on Friday, August 23rd. They'll take on the Detroit Lions at Ford Field with kickoff set for 8 p.m.
