The Buffalo Beauts picked up their first win in their first game of the season, a 4-0 shutout of the Connecticut Whale.
Maddie Elia scored the team's first goal of the season in the first period and added another a few minutes later. Hayley Scamurra also scored two goals, both coming in the third period.
Goaltender Nicole Hensley recorded the shutout with 10 saves.
The Beauts are now 1-0 and will host the Whale in their home opener next Saturday. Puck drop is set for 1:30 p.m. at HarborCenter.
