This is only the 4th time since 1993 that the Blue Jays qualified for the postseason.
Blue Jays starting pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu pitched seven innings without allowing a run.
Ryu improved to 5-2 on the season with a 2.69 earned run average.
The Blue Jays will play their final three games in Buffalo against the Baltimore Orioles.
