BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — One win down and hopefully many more to go.

The Buffalo Bisons opened the 2019 season on Thursday afternoon and started things off with a win, topping Scranton Wilkes-Barre 8-3 in their season opener. Nearly 13,000 attended the game according to the team.

The Bisons started off hot and never looked back. Jacob Waguespack struck out eight batters and allowed just one run on six hits in six innings. Newcomer Cavan Biggio went 3-for-4 including a 2-run home run and a stolen base in his triple-A debut.

The Bisons continue their series with the RailRiders on Friday.
