After a year away from the field, last month Fred Jackson said he was healthy but wasn't ready to retire.
The 36-year-old running back will be participating in the Spring League, a summer showcase for former NFL players to hopefully catch the eye of an organization, and get a second shot at joining the league.
Jackson will participate in practices in California this week before a game on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Napa.

Jackson isn't the only former Bills player to be suiting up in the showcase. Boobie Dixon, who last played in 2015, will also be on the field this week.
Dixon was selected by San Francisco in the 6th round of the 2011 Draft and spent his first four season with the 49ers before joining Buffalo for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Terry Shea will be the head coach of the California Spring League Team while former Bills coach Donnie Henderson will be calling the plays for the Spring League East, which will feature Jackson and Dixon.
