Marquise Goodwin's quest to qualify for a second straight Olympic Games fell short on Sunday, as the Texas track star finished 7th at the Olympic Trails in Eugene, Oregon.
His farthest jump was 8.25 meters or 27 feet, three-quarter inches.
The Bills receiver entered the final day of competition seeded 12th and needed to finish in the top three to join Team USA in Rio.
Jeffery Henderson finished first, followed by Jarrion Lawson and Will Claye. The trio will represent the United States in Rio.
Goodwin competed in the 2012 London Games and placed 10th.
He did not participate in any off-season workouts with the Bills and will rejoin the team when training camp begins at St. John Fisher College on July 30.
God made me a winner today; not by winning a medal/ spot to #Rio2016 but by overcoming my fear of losing. Thank You Lord for opportunity ??
