In the span of a week during the offseason, the Buffalo Bills had two big pieces to their starting lineup go under the knife for a corrective procedure. One of those players was star wide Sammy Watkins, who had offseason foot surgery, and in turn, put his availability for training camp in question.
All through the offseason, the Bills wouldn't commit to a firm timetable for Watkins, only saying that the wide receiver will be ready for the start of the regular season. During the offseason workouts, we saw Watkins go from crutches, to a walking boot, to just regular sneakers.
On Friday, Watkins posted even more progress to his Instagram account. In a short video, Watkins ran full speed on a straight line for 25 yards inside the Bills fieldhouse in Orchard Park. The Bills still haven't updated their stance on Watkins' availability for camp at this point in time.
