In a press release from the team, Bandits General Manager Steve Dietrich said, “Matt was willing to restructure his contract in a way that we hope will help keep our team intact, as well as sign any potential free agents in the future. For a player who has only played in Buffalo for one season, that shows a very strong commitment to his teammates, the fans and the organization.”
Vinc played his first season with the Bandits last year and finished at the top of several stat categories. He won 14 games, setting a new personal career high and a new franchise record for wins by a goalie in a single season. He was later named the NLL Goaltender of the Year, the seventh time he's been awarded that honor.
