BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — The Buffalo Bandits have made an off-season move, signing defenseman Matt Spanger to a two-year contract. The deal is pending league approval.

Spanger, a native of Toronto, has played in 39 games over four years in the National Lacrosse League. He has spent the last two seasons in Buffalo and before then, spent time with the New England Black Wolves.

Last season with the Bandits he set career highs in assists (7), points (8), and loose ball recoveries (61). He also caused 16 turnovers, a career best, which tied for eighth in the league.

The 2019-2020 NLL season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Plans for the 2021 season will be announced at a later date.
