NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — The 17th green made all the difference on Saturday afternoon. In a tie at nine under par, Aiden Didone sunk a 15-foot putt for birdie. Chun An Yu, on the other hand, three-putted to fall back by two strokes heading to the 18th tee.
"There was a lot of nerves there," Didone said. "Just happy I sunk that putt on 17 and made it a bit easier on 18."
Didone and Yu both parred the final hole to seal Didone's victory. The Australian native shot five under on Friday to get within striking distance today.
"I hit really good yesterday, and I kind of just hung in there today," Didone said. "It gave me a lot of confidence, definitely."
This is Didone's second tournament victory and his first since March of 2019.
The final standings are as follows:
1. Aiden Didone -10
T2. Chun An Yu -8
T2. John Pak -8
