Some ideas for celebrating St. Patrick's Day while maintaining social distance

Due to Covid-19, this year’s Saint Patrick’s Day shenanigans are going to look a little different, but this doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate. We’ve put together a list of fun quarantine-friendly ways to celebrate that would make Saint Patrick proud.

1. Cook an Irish meal

The Irish have a few hearty and delicious recipes you can make on St. Patrick’s Day. Start your festivities off right with some traditional Irish meals such as Shepard’s Pie , Irish Beef Stew , or Corned Beef Hash . If you’re looking to put a modern spin on the classics while still keeping with the Irish roots we suggest Rueben Nachos , or Irish Colcannon Mac and Cheese .

2. 'Cheers' with a drink

If you want to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a drink, you can enjoy some cocktails mixed with traditional Irish liqueur. If you need a pick-me-up before or during the festivities, an Irish Coffee should do the trick. We also suggest sipping on an Irish Mule , or an Irish Maid to get you in the spirit.

3. Stream the Dropkick Murphys concert

The Dropkick Murphys will move their annual St. Patrick’s Day concert online for a free livestream in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. You can stream their concert live at 5 p.m. MST on the band’s YouTube , Facebook , Instagram , and Twitch accounts.

4. Watch some Irish flicks

After eating all the food, drinking all the drinks and jamming out to the Dropkick Murphys, end the night with some Irish movies. You can find a recommended list here .
