Kids who are patients at Oishei Children's Hopital have their own special TV channel in their rooms.
It's called Zoo-TV. This is a live feed of cameras at the Buffalo Zoo, streamed directly to televisions in patients' rooms.
Zoo-TV's benefits include more than just entertainment.
"People with medical conditions benefit from being able to see live animals. Even in a doctor's office when you see that fish tank, that's no accident. Fish can reduce heart rate. We know that it has a soothing effect on people," said Tiffany Vanderwerf, Chief Conservation Officer at the zoo.
The zoo plans on adding more camera feeds soon.
