The Wyoming County Sheriff issued a boating advisory for Silver Lake, urging no unnecessary boating.
The lake is not closed, but the Sheriff’s Office announced Friday morning a ‘no wake zone’ is in effect. The office anticipates safety cautions remaining in effect for about three days.
Thursday’s heavy rain and flooding caused the lake to rise several inches, covering docks and damaging anchored boats.
New York State Park Police marine units and the Wyoming County’s Sheriff Office will continue monitoring the lake at this time.
