Have you ever been frustrated when your child doesn't answer a text you sent? One father has the answer -- a new app that will lock his child's phone until they interact with his text.

Called "Reply ASAP," the app will show messages sent through the app over whatever the recipient may be doing, and will make a noise until they interact with it, even if the phone is on silent.

A notification is then sent to the app sender that the message has been read.

The app's creator, Nick Herbert, says on the app's website, "when I try and contact him he rarely answers, either because he doesn't hear the phone, or because (and I've finally had to admit this to myself) he may be embarrassed to speak to his Dad in front of his friends."

"There are times that I need to get a message to him and he has no way of knowing that the call or text he ignores / doesn't see is important or not, and I have no way of knowing if he has seen it (and I mean really seen it and not just moved it so he can get on with his game)," Nick says. "So, ReplyASAP, is my solution to this problem."

The app only works if it's installed on both phones, and currently is available on the Google Play store. There are plans to bring the app to iOS. The app is free to download, but you're required to sign up for a subscription service to use it with more than one other person.
