Two people working at the U.B. Medical School site, in Allentown, had to be rescued Monday morning.  They were suspended, seven stories over Main Street.

Buffalo police and firefighters were called to the site at Main Street and High Street before 7:00 a.m. Monday.

According to a spokesperson for the University at Buffalo, the workers were from AC Dellovade.  The spokesperson said "the stage" had a mechanical problem and safety equipment immediately went into effect.  Everyone was kept in place, according to the spokesperson.

A boom lift was used to take the workers down from the site.

Our crew at the scene saw the piece of equipment dangling on the side of the building.

The workers are said to be okay and were not taken to the hospital.

The cause of this mechanical malfunction is now under investigation.  Wind is not believed to be a cause of the malfunction.
