It’s a labor of love turned bonafide business available in four states and counting.
It’s called “Rusterior,” and Carrie Rinehart is the brains behind the brand.
“It's really modern, really fresh, really simple. I think clothing should be comfortable,” Rinehart explained standing the middle of her home office.
When Rinehart opened about six years ago, she was exclusively printing on clothing. Today, she prints on dozens of items like mugs, coasters, and bags.
Rinehart prints a lot of her clothes and bags out of her home office. And she uses companies around town to print the other items. Her inventory is available at a handful of stores across western New York. But, a majority of her sales are online.
“There's a lot of challenges, a lot of late nights and hard work. But, it’s really worth it.”
Right now, the 31-year-old mom of three still works a full-time job. “This is by far my second full-time job for sure,” she said. “I would love to have a standalone retail store and it's something that we talk about. I'm always hoping to make everyone's favorite shirt that they pick out of their drawer.”
