Investigators say the 26-year-old Brianna Valenti shook 2-year-old, Raelynn Rose Fuller, back in September. Today she was charged with murder in the second degree and manslaughter in the first degree.

Prosecutors say Valenti was watching Fuller at a Grand Island home on Sept. 10 when at some point, investigators say the toddler had trouble breathing and passed out. Fuller was taken to John R. Oishei Children's Hospital, where her family took her off life support 11 days late.

"I can't comprehend anyone killing a two year old child, it boggles my mind," Erie County District Attorney, John Flynn, said. "Whenever a prosecutor charges murder on a shaken baby case the injuries inside the brain are so severe that there is no other explanation logically than this child was shaken."

Valenti is expected back in court Dec. 21.
