A Cheektowaga woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to vehicular assault for a car crash that injured three people.

According to District Attorney John Flynn, Amber Miller, 24, was driving while impaired by alprazolam, a depressant, on July 28, 2016. She was driving down Central Boulevard around 4:27 p.m. when she crossed to the other side of the road and hit three children as a result of her impairment, according to officials.

The DA says 12-year-old Devon Mills sustained a brain bleed and is still recovering, while 15-year-old Timothy Clontz and 12-year-old Kendrik Hampton sustained physical injuries.

Officials say Miller fled the scene and returned about 12 minutes later.

Miller faces up to four years in prison when she is sentenced on May 10, according to the DA.
