Woman stabs man, spits in police matron's face

A woman was arrested in Olean Monday morning after stabbing a man with a knife.

Police say Amy Schoonmaker, 37, stabbed a 38-year-old man during a domestic incident on West Welm Street. The man was taken to Olean General Hospital and is in stable condition, according to Olean Police.

Officers say Schoonmaker was charged with second degree assault.

Schoonmaker was also charged with aggravated harassment of an employee by an inmate, according to officials, for spitting in a female police matron's face while in City of Olean Police jai.

Schoonmaker is being held without bail.
