This month's Women in Leadership honoree runs an environmental remediation business started by her father.

Nicole Savage was 9-years-old when her dad, a biologist, formed Nature's Way Environmental in 1989. She grew up and pursued a Human Resources career, but when her dad died suddenly in 2007 at age 51, she decided to take over the business.

Encouraged by her stepmother, Savage took over the reins and then a year later, the economic downturn hit. It forced her to streamline the company, but business came back and she was able to weather the storm.

Nature's Way has 23 workers today and Savage hopes it will continue to grow in the future.
