Town of Tonawanda Police say a woman found dead inside her apartment this week was murdered.
Detectives found the body of Roberta Rybinski, 51, Tuesday on Newell Avenue. Police were called to her address to check on her welfare after family members contacted them because they could not reach her.
"Our officers got there and upon checking on her welfare, they discovered she was deceased inside of her apartment," said Captain Joseph Carosi of the Town of Tonawanda Police Department.
An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be homicide, although police are not saying how she died.
Detectives say they are following multiple leads.
