A Buffalo woman is facing a long list of charges after Amherst Police say she kicked-off an afternoon chase on the I-990.

Department officials say it started when officers responded to a fight call at a hotel on Maple Road, Thursday afternoon. Upon arrival, officers say several people jumped into a vehicle and sped away.

Patrols tried to stop the vehicle, but officers say the driver wouldn't stop. The car then apparently spun out of control and slammed into a guardrail. Officers say they caught up with the vehicle near exit 3.

The driver, identified by Amherst Police as 25 year-old Mariana Virginia, is now charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing a police officer and several other vehicle and traffic law violations.
