A driver called 911 after being hit by another car that fled the scene - she followed it until the Niagara County Sheriff's Office responded.
The Sheriff's Office says the caller was rear-ended at the intersection of Niagara Falls Boulevard and Williams Road in the Town of Wheatfield.
Erin Clothier, 36, was driving the car that hit the other and drove away, according to officials. Her 6-year-old son was in the back passenger seat.
Deputies say no injuries were reported.
Investigators say Clothier was under the influence of drugs at the time and arrested for felony driving while ability impaired by drugs with a child in the car (Leandra's Law Violation), endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and several other vehicle and traffic charges.
Officials say Clothier is being held in the Niagara County Jail on $750 bail.
