The Niagara County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Niagara Falls woman, accusing her of stealing thousands of dollars from an elderly relative.
Investigators say Adrienne M. Wheeler, 62, was illegally withdrawing money and forging checks from the bank account of a 94-year-old relative over a seven month period. Police believe that see was able to steal at least $18,000.
This was a joint investigation between Niagara County Adult Protective Services and the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Welfare Fraud and Criminal Investigation Bureau.
Wheeler is being held on $5,000 bail.
