After a $65,000 study by Erie County to see what could happen for a new convention center two options were listed. Both could bring in more than $480 million over the next 25 years.

PLAN 1

The first plan would be to extend the current facility with a complete remodel that would take the new convention center across Mohawk Street and up to Huron. A large portion would border the Statler Building.

"Creating a larger facility with much larger exhibit space, but it's not perfect because it's not continuous" Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said.

PLAN 2

The second plan would be placed right across from the Key Bank Center on the site of what is currently the HSBC parking lot. Both of the new convention centers would be an improvement over the current model.
