NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The USA Niagara Development Corporation is looking for proposals to revitalize several properties in downtown Niagara Falls.

Four properties are on the 400-500 block of Third Street which will be mixed-use properties and a vacant lot on Main Street.

Anthony Vilardo, the president of the agency indicates, the goal is to introduce new properties to the downtown area and to give Third Street more production.

Historically, the area was vital to the success of Niagara Falls, however it's fallen on hard times since the development of the suburbs in the 1960s and 70s.

The goal is to provide a mix of small-scale retail and service use properties while maintaining the character already on the street.

In order to review any plans, the request for proposals will need to include

  • Purchase pice
  • Experience of the team
  • Overall quality of the proposal
  • Quality of the financial plan and economic impact of the proposal
  • Diversity practices

Any proposal must be submitted to the New York State Contract Reporter Website by 3 p.m. on September 13th.
