BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The perfect spot to catch your Outer Harbor sunset just got even better.
Charlie's Boat Yard, formerly Dug's Dive, is opening for the 2019 season with a completely new look. The old space was one-story and a patio. Thew new space is two floors, has three bars (two inside and one outside on the patio) and includes glass-faced garage doors that open to let in the breeze.
The upstairs seating area adds about 96 seats, about doubling the amount of customers that can be served at once. Serving will be faster too, with the second floor bringing in another full-service kitchen.
The renovations were completed through this year's harsh winter. Crews built a wall on the patio to protect contractors from the severe wind as they constructed the second floor and remodeled the first. The makeover started in November and continues until the moment the restaurant opens for the season at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 24th.
The restaurant is bringing in live music for weekends and adding Sunday brunch.
