It's a special day in Western New York, as volunteers, agencies and organizations all gather together to celebrate the largest volunteer engagement effort in the area - the 24th annual United Way "Day of Caring."
This community-driven event strives to promote and foster a sense of unity, by working together to make a difference for those in need.
This year, over 3,000 volunteers from 142 companies will collaborate to complete over 200 projects at local agencies throughout Erie County.
Over the past 23 years, over 400,000 hours of service has been donated by more than 100,000 volunteers over the age of 18.
This year, major sponsors include: GM Powertrain, HSBC, National Grid, Wegmans and Geico.
