Western New York has a critical need for blood, and Upstate New York Transplant Services is asking for your help.  The Cheektowaga Police Department is hosting an Emergency Blood Drive on Tuesday, August 21st from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The blood drive will take place at police headquarters. Walk-ups are welcome, or you can click here to learn more information.  As a token of their appreciation, UNYTS will give all donors Sabres pre-season tickets.

With blood donations at such a critical level, UNYTS wants you to know that every three seconds someone needs blood, and that one out of every 10 people who goes into a hospital needs blood.
