A large winter storm has moved up the east coast spreading flooding rain, sleet/ice and snow from Boston, MA to Buffalo.

This storm which began around midnight new the NY/PA line will last about 15hrs wrapping up this afternoon

Unlike lake effect storms, which hit hard and fast with whiteouts paralyzing a few communities at a time, this large scale storm will spread a steady snow across all of WNY.

At the end of the day on Tuesday many communities will be shoveling out from 8-12" of fresh snow.

Communities near the NY/PA line such as Wellsville, Olean, Bradford and Eldred will experience some mixing of sleet and freezing rain leading to lower snow totals, but slick conditions from the wintry mix.
