Gone are the days where you need to warm up your car in the winter.
Vehicles made prior to the late 1980s were built with carburetors. If the fuels in those vehicles weren't warmed than the car could stall.
Since then vehicles have been made with electronic fuel injection engines since the late 1980s and early 1990s. According to the Washington Post all your car would need is about 30 seconds.
These newer vehicles have sensors that find the perfect mix of fuel and air fairly quickly according to CARFAX. Idling your vehicle could cause extra wear and tear on the engine.
