Winds fanned the flames of a two-story house fire in Newfane Wednesday night, according to fire officials.

The house fire broke out on West Creek Road around 8:30 p.m. and fire officials say heavy flames were already through the second floor when they arrived to the scene.

According to fire officials, the fire became difficult to put out due to winds in the area.

All residents of the home made it out safely.

Niagara County sheriff's deputies were also called to the scene. Deputies issued a closure of West Creek Road between Ide Road and Wilson-Burt Road.

There is no word on amount of damage at this time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
