The Food Bank of WNY is receiving a big boost thanks to the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation. The Foundation, named after the owner and founder of the Buffalo Bills, has awarded a $500,000 grant to the Food Bank.
The money was used to buy a refrigerated truck that will ensure that people in need are able to get their food more quickly. "It feels magnificent," said Mary Wilson, wife of Ralph Wilson, and Foundation Trustee. "It's a great way to carry on his legacy. I mean, of course I miss him everyday but I mean the great man that he was, I am so lucky to be a part of his life even now."
The Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation plans to spend $1.2 billion on charitable organizations throughout Buffalo and Michigan.
