Several viewers reached out to 7 Eyewitness News to ask where Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard has been during the lake effect snowstorms pummeling Western New York.
Ed Drantch asked the sheriff's executive assistant Scott Zylka why we haven't seen the sheriff since this snowstorm started.
Turns out the sheriff himself can't get out. He lives in Wales and there is absolutely no access to him. Zylka says Air One can't get to him and with limited resources first responders can't get there.
The undersheriff has been in touch with the Howard. Zylka says they've been in constant communication since Monday, before the storm hit.
It's unclear when the sheriff will be able to get out from his hilltop home.
