The damaged waterline at Gowanda Correctional Facility has been repaired and both Gowanda and Collins Correctional Facility have returned to normal operations.
According to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision a water line break caused water issues for both Gowanda and Collins Correctional Facilities, the DOCCS reported on Sunday.
In a statement from the DOCCS at the time the water line was broken "Crews are working on repairs to a water line break afecting both the Gowanda and Collins Correctional Facilities. Measures have been put into place to minimize water usage, including bottled water for both the staff and incarcerated population."
The DOCCS had water containers in each housing unit that worked for the toilets.
Visitation at both Gowanda and Collins was suspended in order to conserve water.
