Warning for Grand Island residents over break-ins

Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard is warning Grand Island residents to lock up their homes and vehicles after a string of recent break-ins.

Since Tuesday, deputies and detectives have responded to multiple calls on Harvey Road, Grand Island Boulevard, First Street and Center Terrace for car larcenies and home burglaries.

The subjects took laptops, cash, credit cards, electronics and personal items.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office believes a white pickup truck with a loud muffler and possibly multiple occupants may be associated with these incidents and urges residents with information about the truck or the incidents to contact the Erie County Sheriff’s Office at 716-858-2903.
