Today, the Alzheimer's Association of Western New York held its annual "Walk to End Alzheimer's," in Delaware park.
The Western New York chapter of the organization uses the walk as the primary fundraiser to pay for educational programs, support groups and access to medical professionals - which are provided at no cost to patients and their families.
Thousands participated in the walk, which started at 8:30 this morning. In addition to small individual donors, the event had support from corporate donors, and the Erie County Legislature; Legislators Lynne Dixon and Edward Rath participated in the walk, and presented the Alzheimer's Association of WNY with a proclamation.
Even though this year's event is over, you can still donate online, at alz.org/WNY, or by phone at 1.800.272.3900.
