A Cheektowaga woman who has run a food pantry out of her home for 30 years needs help from volunteers this Saturday.  Janet Ensminger-Nieman runs Evangelistic E's emergency food pantry.  This year all of the food donated to the Postal Food Drive in her zip code will be brought to her pantry.

This is the first year she's gotten such a large donation, and she's hoping community members will give her a hand unloading and organizing all of the food that comes in.  She needs volunteers any time between 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12th.  The food pantry is located at 47 Ellwood Place in Cheektowaga.

"Our goal is to provide emergency food assistance for those in need in our community," Ensminger-Nieman said in a press release.  "Our policy has always been to be available to the community when people are experiencing a need.  If the Police or Fire personnel show up and tell me about a family that needs food, we take care of them."

If you can help, you can reach her at (716) 392-2318.
